Died, at her home in this vicinity, Oct. 29, Miss Dottie R. Phillips. Miss Dottie was a sufferer for years being afflicted with a chronic disease since childhood. She was a quiet, Christian girl, bearing her cross of afflictions bravely and without complaint. Her's [sic] was a short yet beautiful life. She laid down this burdensome life in her 21st year, just at the bloom of womanhood had she been blessed with heath [sic]. Her remains were interred in the Linwood cemetery, Oct. 31, Rev. H. D. Hogan preaching a very impressive funeral sermon from the text, "The Lord gave and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the lord [sic]." A large concourse of relatives and friends were present to pay the last sad rites to a departed sister.
