J. S. Pincomb.

J. S. Pincomb died January 15, 1914, after a short illness at his home in Mission township at the age of 74 years and one month. He was born in Genessee County, New yrok, December 15, 1839 living there during his boyhood days. During his youth one year was spent in England after which the family moved to Calhoun County, Michigan, where his mother died a few years later. He also lost his only brother in the army at about this time. After spending five years of useful life with his uncles in Canada, he came to Johnson County in '67 and loacted here, returning to Canada in '69. He was married in 1871 to Sarah M. Ladell of Ontario, Canada and came to Kansasw, where they made their home and reared their family. The wife and mother died 24 years ago.

The funeral services were held at the Linwood Methodist Chruch Saturday at 2 p. m., the Rev. Mr. Rhodes of Waldo, officiating.

The children surviving him are Charles and Arthur Pincomb of Lenexa, Kansas; Mrs. B. F. Moates of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. J. R. Kennedy of Lenexa, Kansas; and Helena Pincomb, of Arbana, Illinois.
